dxf4free (dxf4free.com) is a free catalog of public-domain DXF and vector files for CNC, laser, and plasma cutting. This page explains what we collect, the cookies we use, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site — there are no user accounts, no advertising, and we never sell your data.

Information we process

• Usage analytics (optional). If you allow analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which designs and pages are popular. It collects pseudonymous data such as pages viewed, approximate location (from IP, not stored by us), device and browser type, and referring site. Analytics do not run until you opt in.
• Download counts. When you download a file we increment public counters and record an event. To count downloads and prevent abuse without identifying you, we store a salted one-way hash derived from your IP address — never your raw IP address, and the hash cannot be reversed back to it.
• No personal details. Downloads are anonymous and require no sign-up. We don't ask for your name, email, or payment information.

Cookies

We set no cookies at all unless you allow analytics. If you do, Google Analytics sets its standard cookies (_ga and _ga_*) to distinguish visitors and sessions. We use no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Essential preferences such as your light/dark theme and your cookie choice are stored in your browser's localStorage, not sent to any server.

Consent & your choices

On your first visit we ask whether to enable analytics, and nothing analytics-related runs until you accept (Google Consent Mode v2, defaulting to “denied”). You can change your mind at any time:

• Use the Cookie settings link (also in the site footer) to re-open the banner and grant or withdraw consent.
• You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings.

Withdrawing consent stops further analytics collection and clears the analytics cookies from your browser.

Who we share data with

Analytics data is processed by Google as our analytics provider, subject to Google's Privacy Policy. The site and database are hosted on our infrastructure provider, which processes requests to serve the site. We do not sell or rent any data.

Data retention

Hashed download events are kept in aggregate to maintain download counts and spot abuse. Google Analytics retains data according to our property's retention setting. Theme and consent preferences live in your browser until you clear them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. the EU/UK under GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, or erase personal data, or to object to its processing. Because we store no directly identifying information, requests usually concern analytics data held by Google. Contact us and we'll help where we can.
